Recording meetings has also become essential for us since it is rare for the entire team to be online at the same time. Not a workday goes by where I do not watch a team member or customer share their desktop (or share my own)-it is a feature that we could no longer function without. The mobile app, if enabled, further improves on this fluidity by allowing users to take calls on the go. ![]() With a correctly configured installation, companies can ditch their desktop phones in favor of voice over IP, allowing users to talk using a USB headset, their mobile phone, or any other microphone/audio device. The interface is intuitive and not something I hear users complain about. In a business environment, Skype allows geographically separated teams to communicate using voice, video, screen sharing, and chat. Perhaps this could be improved with a better configured installation or improved internet connection, but I do not have the access or data to say one way or the other. In practice, Skype's reliability is sub-par. On paper, it fits all of our needs and more. Skype has been the internal and external communication tool of choice at all three tech industry companies I have worked for. Abundance of great features with mediocre reliability
